How Could I Ever Forget You

Life teaches us many things, yet it never teaches us how to forget. Time marches on; faces change, seasons pass, and paths shift. Yet, the heart remains anchored to that one spot where a memory, a wound, or a face has taken root and become immovable. The world urges us to forget, but life insists that what has settled deep within cannot be erased by forgetting—it can only be mastered through endurance. Forgetting is the desire of the weak, whereas remembering is the nature of those who have witnessed the truth up close. Life is about moving forward, yet the heart does not know the art of leaving things behind. People believe that time makes us forget everything; in reality, time makes us forget nothing—it merely teaches the pain to remain silent. Life moves on, yet certain faces, words, and betrayals embed themselves deep within one's very bones. Life pushes us not to forget, but to understand. Those who forget are merely fleeing from reality; it is those who cannot forget whose hearts remain truly alive.
