Do not expect everyone to possess
the same character and manners
as you.
This misunderstanding often
comes at a very high cost.
The truth is, the soil we all come
from may be the same,
but not every conscience is alive.
Some people are those who
mistake kindness for weakness.
The real pain comes from the fact
that we measured them by
ourselves.
We judged them according to our
own standards,
we weighed them against the
sincerity of our own intentions,
and then we were left wondering
why their soul was not like ours.
Good character is learned,
while bad character is chosen.
A person who repeatedly causes
you pain
does not have a different soul;
they have a different character.
So stop assuming that everyone is
like you.
Not every smile carries humanity,
and not every silence carries
decency.
Some people are merely mirrors;
they do not show you your truth—
they show you their own filth.
