If You Have To Bend For The Sake Of Preserving A Relationship, Then Bend. But If You Are Always The One Who Has To Bend, Then Stop.

Relationships are never ruined by bending; the real problem begins when the bending comes from only one side. At first, a person convinces themselves, *“It’s okay, I’ll be the one to give in. I’ll be the one to understand. I’ll be the mature one.”* But with time, a painful realization sets in: you are not being understanding—you are simply being used.

When someone starts treating your silence as their victory, your patience as weakness, and your kindness as something they can always rely on for their own convenience... then bending is no longer a compromise; it becomes an act of lowering yourself.

The bitter truth is that some people are never truly yours. They only come into your life to discover how far you are willing to bend.

And after a certain point, stopping is better. Because when you go against your own self-respect just to save a relationship, even if the relationship survives, a part of you dies.
