ایک مرتبہ ایک سکول کے وزٹ کے دوران میں نے ایک بچے سے پوچھا کہ آپ علامہ اقبال کو جانتے ہیں؟

جواب ملا کہ جانتا ہوں.

میں نے کہا وہ کون تھے؟

جواب ملا کہ جو ٹیکے لگاتے ہیں

میں نے کہا کون؟

جواب ملا کہ ڈاکٹر منیر علامہ اقبال ہیں.......

میں نے پوچھا کہ پاکستان کس نے بنایا تھا؟

جواب ملا مستری نے.

میں نے پوچھا قائد اعظم کون تھے؟

جواب ملا وہ مستری تھے..

بات ترجیحات کی ہوتی ہے اور ہماری ترجیحات میں یہ سب شامل نہیں ہے، جب علم کاروبار بن جاتا ہے تو نتائج کچھ ایسے ہی نکلتے ہیں.

آج کل اساتذہ کو اقبال کے اشعار یاد نہیں، اگر یاد ہیں تو مفہوم نہیں پتا.

پھر بچے تو بڑھ کر ہی ہونے ہیں.

آج کل اساتذہ کو بھی زریون اور حافی کے اشعار یاد ہیں اور طلباء کو بھی..

اسی طرح سے نینو ٹیکنالوجی کی بات ہے جو کہ ہمارے تقریباً ماسٹر لیول تک کے کورس میں شامل نہیں اور لوگوں نے اسے مڈل میں پڑھ لیا ہوا ہے...

ہم جدید علوم سے محروم ہیں جن کی بنیاد پر دنیا ترقی کر رہی ہے مگر ہمارے بچے آج تک سائنسدانوں کے نام اور تاریخ پیدائش کے رٹے لگا رہے ہیں... لوگوں نے استعمال کرتے ہوئے کیا کچھ کر دیا مگر ہمارے نصاب میں ابھی تک اس کی دریافت پڑھائی جاتی ہے...

تقریباً چالیس سالوں سے ایف ایس سی کا کورس تبدیل نہیں ہوا.. پڑھانے والوں کو فنگر پرنٹ پر سارا کورس طوطے کی طرح رٹا ہوا ہے نتیجتاً پڑھانے والوں کو پڑھنے کی ضرورت پیش نہیں آتی... انرجی اور پوٹینشل پھر کیسے ممکن ہے؟

ٹیچرز منہ دھو کر یا بعض اوقات منہ دھوءے بنا آتے ہیں اور پڑھانا شروع کر دیتے ہیں کیونکہ تیس تیس سال سے ایک ہی کورس پڑھا رہے ہیں...

بچے پانچ سالہ پیپر دیکھ رہے ہیں کہ فلاں فلاں سوال اتنی مرتبہ آ چکے ہیں اور کچھ ٹیچرز کو یہ تک رٹ چکا کہ فلاں والا سوال سالانہ امتحانات میں اتنی مرتبہ آ چکا ہے...

فلاں سال، فلاں بورڈ میں آ چکا ہے..

سلیکٹو سٹڈی اور حد لگا دی جاتی ہے کہ یہاں سے یہاں تک کر لیں مطلب کہ بس امتحان دینا ہے سیکھنا نہیں ہے، کسی چیز سے مستفید نہیں ہونا..

ہمارے کورسز کا زیادہ تر حصہ وہ ہے جس کا زندگی میں استعمال ہی نہیں، یا استعمال بتایا ہی نہیں جاتا.

اس نظام کو درست کرنا ہے تو سب سے پہلے اس شعبے سے انویسٹرز کو ختم کرنا ہوگا، ہمارے ملک میں اس وقت ٹاپ پر چلنے والے بزنس کو " ایجوکیشن بزنس" کہا جاتا ہے، بڑے بڑے انویسٹرز اس میں شامل ہو چکے ہیں. ہم ڈاکٹرز کو مافیا کہتے ہیں، وکلاء کو مافیا کہتے ہیں مگر میں آپ کو یقین سے کہتا ہوں کہ اس وقت سب سے بڑا مافیا ہمارے تعلیمی نظام کا حصہ بنا ہوا ہے. جب تعلیم کاروبار بن جاتی ہے تو پھر تاجر ہی پیدا ہوتے ہیں، پھر اچھے ڈاکٹر، سائنسدان، انجینئر ،ماہر تعلیم، ماہر معاشیات پیدا نہیں ہوتے اور سب سے بڑھ کر پھر اچھے انسان ہی پیدا نہیں ہوتے...

یورپ اور خاص طور پر ناروے میں دیہات کے سکول شہروں کی نسبت زیادہ ڈیویلپ ہیں، وہاں پر سہولیات شہروں کی نسبت زیادہ ہیں کیونکہ وہ لوگ جانتے ہیں کسی بھی ملک یا قوم کی ترقی کیلئے بنیادی شرط " تعلیم" ہی ہوتی ہے. مگر ہمارے ملک میں تو شہر کے تعلیمی اداروں کا ہی بیڑہ غرق ہے تو دیہات کے تعلیمی اداروں کی کیا بات کروں؟. سندھ میں دیکھ لیں یا سب چھوڑ کر پنجاب کو دیکھ لیں جسے ہم ترقی یافتہ صوبہ کہتے ہیں، اسی صوبے کے ہزاروں سکولز میں کرسیاں نہیں، چار دیواری نہیں، واش روم نہیں ہیں، کسی جگہ ٹیچر نہیں، کسی جگہ غیر حاضر ہیں مگر تنخواہ پھر بھی لی جاتی ہے...

ہمارے ملک میں تعلیم مہنگی نہیں ہے، اسے مہنگا بنا دیا گیا ہے، اس انویسٹمنٹ کی وجہ سے جو تاجروں نے کی ہے، اتنی بھاری فیس لینے کے باوجود ہمارے بچوں کی کتابوں میں کمیشن، یونیفارم میں کمیشن، جوتے میں کمیشن، ورک شیٹ، ایپل ڈے، مینگو ڈے، اورنج ڈے، ییلو ڈے وغیرہ وغیرہ کی آڑ میں پیسے بٹورنے کا طریقہ تلاش کیا گیا ہے.

ہم اپنے بچوں کو طوطے بنا رہے ہیں، تھیوری اور صرف تھیوری مگر پریکٹیکل کوئی نہیں، اس لحاظ سے ہم میں اور ایک طوطے میں کوئی فرق نہیں ہے کیونکہ طوطا بھی پریکٹیکل نہیں کر سکتا اور ہم بھی نہیں کر سکتے. ہم بچوں کو سائنسدانوں کی تاریخ پیدائش، تاریخ وفات اور نام کے رٹے لگوا رہے ہیں جبکہ دنیا تھیوری کو استعمال کرنا سکھا رہی ہے، چالیس سالوں سے ہمارا کورس ایک ہی چل رہا ہے اور ہم آج تک سائنس کی ابتدا ہی پڑھ رہے ہیں....

تعلیم سے تربیت کو خارج کر دیا گیا ہے اور پیچھے صرف کاغذ کے ٹکڑے باقی ہیں، ہمارا ٹیچر بھی اسی رٹا سسٹم کی پیداوار ہے، سکلز نہیں ہیں، پڑھانے کا طریقہ نہیں آتا، کمیونیکیشن سکلز نہیں ہیں، کورس کو پڑھا نہیں جاتا، ایک ایم سی کیوز پر مشتمل پیپر اور پھر انٹرویو سے ایک ٹیچر کی ججمنٹ نہیں کی جا سکتی. اردو کو ہمارے تعلیمی اداروں سے دھکے دے کر نکالا گیا ہے، بڑے بڑے سکولز میں اردو بولنے تک کی اجازت نہیں ہے،

اپنی قومی زبان کو چھوڑ کر آپ کو لگتا ہے کہ آپ ترقی کر سکتے ہیں؟

کوئی ایک مثال بتا دیں کہ کسی ملک نے اپنی زبان چھوڑ کر ترقی کی ہو؟

انگلش کو معیار بنا دیا گیا ہے جبکہ اس زبان کے رہنما اور بانی خود اپنی قوم کو درس دیتے دیتے مر گئے کہ انگریزی ایک زبان ہے، اسے سکلز نہ سمجھا جائے مگر ہم نے اسے معیار، علم اور مہارت کا درجہ دے دیا ہے......
