Because sometimes, speaking the truth doesn't solve the problem; it simply ends the relationship. The real pain isn't that people deceive us; the true anguish lies in the fact that, despite knowing the reality, we choose to stay right where we are bound to be shattered. We keep offering ourselves the false hope that perhaps today things will change—that maybe, just maybe, they will speak the truth or finally value us. But the reality? Someone who fails to grasp the worth of the truth will never understand the value of your silence. If you repeatedly feign ignorance despite knowing the truth, remember that while silence can sometimes be a mark of dignity, persistent silence amounts to self-destruction. It is acceptable to remain silent after being deceived, but to stay put even after witnessing the deception is a betrayal of one's own self.
